PYC Lunchbox Event
At the Lunchbox Event, volunteers pack lunchboxes filled with packaged foods to donate to the Refuge, a youth centre in Oshawa. Through this event, the Council aims to help provide nutritious meals to youth experiencing homelessness.

Time: 4:00-5:30 PM
Location: Meeting rooms 2 and 3 at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex
Volunteers: High school students can gain volunteer hours if they bring in volunteer forms
Items: Volunteers can bring items from a select list, they must be prepackaged brand name items
Speak Up! Workshop
Introducing Speak Up!, the inaugural event hosted by the 2025 Pickering Youth Council.
This workshop features CEO and entrepreneur Saru Kanapathipillai, an accomplished public speaker, who will deliver a talk on public speaking and share his top tips. It will also include exciting breakout activities and games. Whether you are a beginner, or a seasoned public speaker, this is an amazing opportunity to develop your skills and meet like-minded youth.
Activities are for ages 12-18, but parents/guardians are welcome to attend
It runs from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM in meeting rooms 2 & 3 at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex
